Chess (Grade 1-4)

Your child has the exciting opportunity to improve their mental skill with professional chess instructors from our local Chess 'N Math Association. This fun chess course for both beginners and advanced players, teaches kids to think ahead and calculate, invaluable skills for the classroom. Each fun lesson is followed by a game session. Awards and certificates are given at the end of the term. All equipment is provided.

Happy Minds - Yoga and Meditation (Grade 3-8)

A safe space where girls practice the power of positive thinking... one breath at a time.

Our unique and uplifting program brings girls together to practice meditation, yoga and positive thinking.

So much art, so much fun!

The kids can’t get enough of our arty lunch program.  Packed with tonnes of learning and creating, brought to you by your crafty Bessborough Moms - Jacqui Dickens and Suzanne Sharples. Every week we learn about a new artist and use a different medium to explore their work. This winter we will learn about Canadian fauna through the eyes of Robert Bateman, Clay time antics with Louise Olsen, collaging with Rose Pearman and the list goes on…

Build, create, invent, I am an architect! (Grade 1-5)

How do you build, create, and invent something amazing? It does not take years of experience when creative ideas and inspiration come from your heart! Children will build their own ‘dream’ houses, buildings and towers using wood blocks, foam, clay, and more. They will invent unique furniture to decorate the interior. Children will also build surrounding landscapes including roads, bridges, and parks to complete the project.

Knitting Club (Grade 1-6)

Winter is never far away in Canada – what better way to stay warm than with your handmade knit creations! Knit Kids is a knitting program tailored toward primary students, teaching them the basics of knitting using fun and engaging activities. We will learn how to cast on and bind off, and well as the basic knit stitch. We may even try our hand at other forms of knitting, such as finger knitting, arm knitting or peg knitting! Let’s get cozy in Knitting Club!

Comic Book Creator (Grade 3-6)

The Avengers, Batman, and Supergirl may have already been written, but there are still tons of superheroes just waiting for you to tell their story! In this unique program, students will have the opportunity to create their very own comic book, from start to finish. Students will develop characters, create storyboards, and eventually create their very own comic book to bring home with them.  Throughout this process, students will enhance creativity, learning alternative methods of storytelling and self-expression. Are you ready to bring your character to life on the page? If so, it’s time to Create Your Own Comic Book!

LEGO Contraptions & Reactions (Grade 1-3)

It’s time to create wacky projects that spin, stretch or spring into action- all by reacting to each other! Take your LEGO® knowledge up a notch, learning new building techniques for diverse LEGO® contraptions. Then, use these contraptions for elaborate chain reactions that swing, bounce or recoil in ways that only LEGO® bricks can! How complex a reaction can you create?​

Lunch Time Hip Hop (Grade 1-4)

Music – Dance – Video Creation!

Students hit the dance floor learning hip-hop dance moves to share with parents at the last class, then take their new skills and create a one-of-a-kind music video using iPads supplied by In the Mix. Kids get to be Directors, DJs, and Choreographers. At the end of the session, students can securely view their videos at the In the Mix website. So grab some comfy clothes and your favourite pair of running shoes and join In the Mix.

Little Yogis

Little Yogis is a Yoga & Mindfulness program for children. In every Little Yogis class we learn yoga through stories, music, games, creative-play and lots of imagination! Little Yogis offers non-traditional yoga classes: invigorating, interactive, imaginative journeys into your child's developing mind. Themes and messages such as kindness, compassion, gratitude, determination incorporated into each class. Each class starts with a fun warm-up (Parachute, "toe-ga", dance, yoga obstacle course), then breathing exercises, yoga, and ends with savasana (calming meditation). We will bring a mat for each child, props, music and lots of energy! Magic Modelling Clay

Children can't get enough of model magic clay. This popular form of clay is soft, squishy, easy to mix colours, and it doesn't stick to hands unlike traditional clay. Clay is one of the most versatile and fun medium for children to unleash their creativity. This course offers children the opportunity to create something they love: farm animals, yummy pretend food, cool cartoon characters, miniature castles, forest scenes and many more.

Circus Performer 

Have you always dreamed of performing under the big top, stage lights shining and all eyes on you? In Circus Performer, you will have the opportunity to learn to entertain like the best of them! Students will participate in activities incorporating everything from acrobatics and tumbling to clowning. With a focus on performing for peers and becoming comfortable in front of an audience, students will improve balance, fitness, and gross motor skills, all while having fun under the big top! Come one, come all to the Circus!

LEGO Around the World

Pack your bags, get your passport ready and prepare to travel around the world… with LEGO®! Each week in LEGO® Around the World, students will trek to a different part of the globe, exploring that city’s unique architecture. We will recreate famous landmarks, perhaps building our own Eiffel Tower or Taj Mahal! The world is your oyster with LEGO® Around the World!

Pirate Club

Go on a treasure hunt with us in Pirate Club! In this exciting program we’ll explore all sorts of pirate activities – from learning about the famous pirates in history to discovering our own pirate character as well as pirate games, shipbuilding and more.
